BETTER AGING: ONTARIO EDUCATION SUMMIT
The Council of Ontario Universities, with sponsorship from the Ministry of Health and Long- Term Care and in association with Baycrest Health Sciences, is coordinating a provincial stakeholders’ summit on how to enhance the preparation of care providers to meet the needs of Ontario’s older adults.
This summit will mark a significant kick-off event to bring together senior leaders in the education and health sectors to collaborate and advance Dr. Samir Sinha’s recommendations on geriatric education and training, a priority of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The summit will provide a platform to learn about current needs, share best practices and innovation in the sector, understand current research, and exchange ideas on advancing geriatric education and training among the health care workforce to better care for Ontario’s older adults.
Keynote speakers include the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Deb Matthews and Dr. Samir Sinha, Provincial Lead, Ontario’s Seniors Strategy and Director of Geriatrics, Mount Sinai Hospital and University Health Network.
This important event will have a significant impact on the education of current and future health and social care providers, and will form an important part of the government’s strategic directives on Seniors.
